Back in November we braved a rainy, windy, and cold day on the bay to capture the reef planting for Year 2 of the COASTAL Project. It only seemed fitting that there was a bit of weather since the farmers are out their no matter what to tend to their farm.
Thanks to Steve Frost of Frost Seafood and Chris Carroll of Laughing Gull Oysters for a ride to the Mill Creek Reef and an up close view of the planting.

In total 435,073 live oysters were placed on Tuckerton and Mill Creek Reefs thanks to the efforts of 9 farmers. Read more about the project and stats in the press release HERE.

Jetty Rock is proud to help fund this project and in turn the farmers who are assisting with restoration work in Great and Barnegat Bays. Thanks to the Ocean County Soil Conservation District for spearheading this project.
